In short, in some strange moronic way, I guess sometimes I miss the apartment on Broad and Girard. The convenience of the place was pretty comforting. Being able to wake a half hour before work and enjoy a brisk 10 minute bike ride was an immense pleasure.

Granted, the place was plagued, not just with bugs, but with pests of other sorts. Let's not forget every single terrible thing that happened because if we're still alive, we learned something pretty and painfully valuable from it. Furniture broke often. People were hurt often. Dishes were... always there. Aren't these the kind of things that happen when you live away from home?

I have to say, there were some great times, despite the consequences. The freedom of free-flowing alcohol, throwing eggs out the window, blasting Gangsta's Paradise while I cleaned. Watching Mo succumb to the power of Salvia and Katamari Damacy, Josiah breaking a video tape over his forehead, Loomis crushing a table, those long afternoons of Resident Evil 4 and the Bed Fesitval with Lauren, I will never look at leis the same way again, Jack Johnson's "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing", Justin Timberlake's "My Girlfriend", and let's not forget "Allstar", partying on the roof on New Years Eve, Kate's alarming amount of party photos, going Rambo on the water pistols at Brooke and Cain.

Limbo dancing, smoking lots of pot, Leif Erikson Day, Why Do Men Have Nipples?, a chorus of people singing Bohemian Rhapsody, that dog pinch from South Park, Joe Poon, Bailey falling out the window, Plunger and Fonzie going at it, taking apart table legs and being curious about the holes in my pants knee, fried Wonton, drunk in Chinatown, getting kicked out of Franklin Mills, delivering videos in the freezing cold, Halal Heaven and Ben & Jerrys in subzero temperatures, getting cooked dinner all the time, Eh? Eh? Eh?, the wall of post-its, depantsing, the Phil Collins Jamboree, lots of pictures of Lauren making strange faces, lots of pictures of Joe drinking, lots and lots and lots and lots of pictures of Kate, not knowing how to use a keg, Are You Afraid Of The Dark? videocassette, sneaking around and enjoying it, finding that bag of weed after cleaning, 1402, paying someone to take a Checker's rug, making fun of Lois & Clark, teaching Eddy how to play Halo, hearing that doorbell and knowing exactly who it is and getting so excited.

These were the good things about the Cain/Teszner Estate, and 618. The only thing that was missing was the painted portrait which was supposed to hang over our mantle. Now let us never speak of that terrible place again.
