Yee gads.
I have 2TB of storage at home on a QNAP NAS. I have a Sony Bravia KDL40 HD TV with Ethernet connection. I have Apple TV. I have a lovely fast Wireless g network that I could probably make n as I don't use the Palm on it anymore. I have a WiFi router with Ethernet port, I have a cable modem, I have an admittedly older but still functinal laptop. The amount of faff to connect it all together is astounding!
I am not technically illeterate and I have a degree of patience with such things. I have most of it behaving. It still seems ridiculous that I have to have iTunes running on the Laptop to listen to my iTunes library that is stored on the NAS (especially as it has a built in iTunes and Twonky media server), but I'm sure that's there must be a tweak out there for that. What bugs me the most is I can't get .avi's to play through any of it without first converting them to something else! So much for plug and play...
