God damn it that was hard! I am utterly beasted. I went out there and gave everything I had today. Feel like I've been beaten all over with a very big stick - hips, quads, glutes, feet, lower back, upper back, neck, head, triceps.

But yes, you touched a raw nerve there, what with 36 coming up in a few days time and that meaning I'm moving into that "late 30's" demographic. And muscle mass build and retention being that much harder after 30. My PB at London was in 2006, when I was a sprightly 31, and of course the question begs itself, is that the best I'll ever do? Have I peaked? Is it all downhill now?
And then, I spoke to my parents yesterday, who couldn't stop to chat too much as they were in the middle of a 90km on the Isle of Wight. After they did a cheeky 100km on Friday. And Dad knocked out a quick 2 hours run on Saturday.
There's hope yet :-)

I get that "was 200x my best year?" wibble too (doubly so with the HD) but hey, I can always change discipline and reset the performance point. Hello mister kayak...
