Well, there is a first time for everything -- or shall I say you can teach an old dog new tricks? Anyway, I've been telling myself I would start this journal for a long time - and here I am, finally, over a year later. At any rate, it is an uneventful Wednesday - my daughter is due to come home from school any time now, my younger son is home ill,

And I get to be your very first comment! Actually, my LJ layout is also one of theirs. I'm not nearly clever enough or motivated enough to make one of my own. But I am happy with it. I like yours as the green seems to suit you, as do the trees at the bottom.

Okay, as promised here are my answers to the meme!

1) Are you currently in a serious relationship?
A. No

2) What was your dream growing up?
A. To be an art teacher

3) What talent do you wish you had?
A. The talent to walk gracefully...yes, I do believe it's a talent!

4) If I bought you a drink what would it be?
A. Depends on where we are and if I have my regular bartender. If that's the case, one of his raspberry specials, if not how about a mai tai or margarita?

5) Favourite vegetable?
A. Summer squash with butter, salt, and pepper

6) What was the last book you read?
A. Walking Ollie by Stephen Foster...As dog books go, it wasn't all that great

A. Pisces. Yes, I'm a fish

A. No tattoos...yet...piercings...three in the left ear and one in the right

A. Oh, there are tons of these...I can't really narrow it down to one...

A. As long as you weren't power walking...I'd hate to interrupt your exercise

A. Right now...baseball...Go Cubs!!! (Magic number = 2)

A. Negative

13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?
A. Well, I'd probably start by whining, (I have to be honest here) then I'd probably mention the last time I was stuck in an elevator and some woman we'd been talking to through the doors (and up a floor, I think) came back and asked, "Are you still there?" (My mom's response? "No, we went out for a sandwich!)

14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?
A. Probably almost dying

15) Tell me one weird fact about you.
A. Only one? Wow, how to narrow that down...I don't get my first wind until the second half of the day

16) Do you have any pets?
A. Not of my own at this time, but I do live with three dogs

17) What if i showed up at your house unexpectedly?
A. I'd have to put the dogs away, and then introduce you to my mom. After that it's anybody's guess. (Not very welcoming, but it's not my home to welcome you to.)

A. That you're very nice, and very smart

A. Creepy

20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
A. My posture

A. Depends on the crime and how much alcohol was involved ;)

Thanks for the compliment on the layout - I kind of felt like the trees reflected where we are in life right now - and what can I say, I love trees! (It's a good thing as there is no shortage of trees in the Pacific Northwest!)

It's been a long time since I've been at a Friday's (I'm not even sure they have them here) - so if I'm ever back in Chicago perhaps we could get together at a Friday's.

Trees are a good thing...except when there are bugs hanging from them! ;)

Not at all. We did a lot of crafty type things when I was in art class in grade school, and I enjoy that. I don't do nearly enough of it anymore. (I'm too busy writing smut! ;)

*gasp* As soon as my heartbeat slows, I'll forgive you. Actually, the Sox are doing quite well now, too. I'm not sure what their magic number is just now. Cub are down to 1. (They would have clinched yesterday if they hadn't lost...at least Milwaukee also lost.)
