Poor pup.
Sophie has a parasite. Giardia. Very fun.
Look it up. We've been hygeine city since her diagnosis and my skin has decided to retaliate against the excessive amts of antibacterial soap. :( Like sandpaper.
How did we know she wasn't well? We noticed she had runny, pudding-like stools 4 times in a row...the last with some red (blood?) in it. We took her to the vet, who gave her a 10-day course of
Flagyl. She's pretty good about taking the pills, as long as they are "hidden" in Kong Stuff'n. We ran out of the
puppy stuff, and PetSmart didn't have any, so we bought
liver flavored. She likes it. :) I guess it's her "spoonful of sugar" to help her medicine go down.
Sadly, she missed her last puppy obedience class yesterday and we had to postpone her final exam. We still showed to cheer on everyone else, but the weather was soooo nice only two of the other 5 pups showed. Her make-up exam is on Friday.
Oh my Gawd... The Sox were on FIRE this weekend when they faced the Yank-me's at Fenway. Matsuzaka's start last night was less than impressive, save for the fact he drilled A-Fraud on the first pitch inside, and then struck him out twice. Maybe the phenom killed Alex's hot streak? (12 homers in 16 games...who the hell does that without being on something??) Then, he cemented his allegiance to RSN (Red Sox Nation, for those not in the know) by drilling Jeter, too. Mmmm... That was a thing of beauty.
The icing on the cake, though, was Papelbon staring down A-Rod and King him on 3 fastballs to end the game. Yum! That's some good icing right there. I would willing offer to have Papelbon's love children. Just saying... *insert furtive glance here*
The Sox are certainly off to a good start...I hope it continues! They have a two-game series at home against Toronto, then travel to Baltimore for two, and then New York for 3. The last AL East team they will face is the Devil Rays, who they see for the first time in July.
Jon Lester, a rookie from last year who was having a hell of a season prior to being diagnosed with cancer, is making a rehab start at Frontier Field on Wednesday...assuming the rain holds off. This is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to see a potential HOFer up close, and I sooooo wanna go. Looks like it'll be a solo trip, though, since O is hosting the TBF Live committee dinner at our place that night.
