i like the part where they're too cute for words...

Happy Feet was adorable, the parts that had penguins in them at least. I thought it was fun and creative and watching mumbles dance and hearing gloria sing was simply exciting. all the penguins were beautifully detailed and walked incredibly funny. the main plot line seemed so inspired by March of the Penguins... with their personal songs to attract mates and find their mates later it was fantastic. I loved every moment of it...

until they brought in the aliens...

that's right i said aliens. somehow the movie goes from being about penguins finding love and family to being about aliens (or as we people like to call them...people). mumbles (looking like a retarded penguin) goes on a "save the penguins" mission and real (not-CG) people are brought into the movie. what kind of cg animated movie about cute little feathery animals falling in love needs ACTUAL people in it. Bambi got along fine.

they totally lost their focus and subsequently lost mine too...they managed to take an unbelievably adorable plotline and turn it into a political activism piece...

needless to say it pissed me off!

EDIT! ooops i didn't even mention how awesome Robin William's mexican penguin was (Matt - you must learn your accent from him! no more french-mexican monsieur) all the pebble penguins were hilarious, mumbles had a little mexican posse! SWEET!
