For my business communication class, our next assignment is to write a letter of recommendation. The assignment says that in theory, we asked a former professor to write a letter of recommendation for us, and they told us that if we wrote one for them, they would sign it. So that's what we're doing.
A part of that assignment is actually finding an ad for a job we're actually interested in. Not like part time, job job; but post graduation type job.
It has to be within the area we're going in to.
So I go on monster and look for open accounting jobs.
I started out by just looking in Michigan, there were over 42 pages, but none of them struck any interest.
Then, I looked nationwide and there were over 200 pages of accounting-type jobs available. Still, I haven't heard of most of these companies and I wasn't interested.
Finally, I remembered that I had looked at Tiffany & Co. Careers a few months ago and they had accounting positions open.
So I went to the Tiffany website and sure enough, they have about 5 different types of positions in accounting to fill.
One of them, the one that sounds most interesting, is a Senior Tax Accountant.
Location- Parsippany, NJ
I researched this town, and it was named the 12th best to live in the United States.
This made me think.
If everything goes the way I want it
If I go through with accounting,
If I go through on getting an internship my junior year
If I join Beta Alpha Psi
If I get INVOLVED with this stuff as soon as I can (Junior Year)
THEN
One day I will not be living in Michigan.
Weird right?
I wanted to post this only because the place is in New Jersey, and you know what New Jersey symbolizes.
