Last night I worked night swim again. It was almost over and it had gone without incident. But I was on my last break and I heard a whistle. I immediately came rushing out of the guardroom to the dive tank, where the whistle was blown. I didn't see the guard who was on chair over there. My heart skipped a beat. I thought he had to jump in and make the first rescue of the season. Thankfully he didn't though. It was a fight at the diving boards. So I took over for Thomas, the guard on duty, while he and the manager yelled at the kids. Pretty tame compared to the last one.
Today I am about to take what I might consider a large leap of faith and a big risk. We'll see how it turns out.
