Life, Leadership, and our Generation

Things are awesome. Not necessarily any reason, just because they are. Third quarter ended today... Grades good except for history, not sure what I am getting there. Either B or C. What can ya do? We had early release today. I went to Quizno's for a sub and then to the mall with some friends. Exactly what I needed. All State is Saturday and I am feeling really well. I am applying to be a Lifeguard this summer. I think it would be freakin' awesome if I got the job. The training course is over Spring Break at ASU from 9 - 5 Mon - Fri.

I am leading another Bible study this Sunday with one of my peers from church. My youth director is going to Texas for something. The last one I led went really well. I loved it. This is something I enjoy doing. It is so amazing to work with people and talk to them and then BAM! something clicks and they understand everything. You begin to see the Holy Spirit work in ways that you never saw before. I realized that when I started teaching little kids. I love kids and teaching them. I have taught for four years and it was amazing to see the children's faith grow, even though they were so little (ages 2-5). Children are so innocent and full of love. That is why God wants us to have the heart of a child. Working with children has helped me realize that. Leadership in the church is something I love. In fact, I love leadership in general. Not because I am an egomaniac and can say that I lead something. But because when you help guide a group and see them succeed, you get a feeling that is unparalleled. This season I was Trombone Section Leader in marching band. I helped my section some and it was amazing to see what happened. They were so invigorated and full of energy that helped fuel the band's positive atmoshpere. Given the position of leadership, I leap at the opportunity because I love a challenge.

We had to write an essay in English defining our generation. At first I thought you have to be kidding me. On the surface it sounds like a joke of an assignment and very hard. But with a little help, it all came together I think I wrote one of my best papers. Writing the paper did really make me realize how different our generation is so different from our parent's generation. Think about it. We communicate not only in person and by talking of the phone, but also with e-mail, instant messaging, and Myspace. That was a main point in my essay.

Well. Reality hits tomorrow. It is back to a full day of school whether I like it or not. Good night.
