Liquor, Pills and a Hotel Room: A New Years Story

Jan 01, 2006 17:17

Melissa and I took the bus up to Vancouver this weekend to celebrate new years and all that. It's been pretty fun, though the weather is pretty much the same, nothing but grey and rain on and off. After stuffing ourselves at the Keg for dinner, we were too lazy to go out for new years so we rang in the new year with Grower's cider, canadian whiskey, codeine filled 222's and watching Mars Attacks on canadian cable. Alcohol is expensive as hell here and there was a line halfway down the block just to get into the only liquor store downtown, since all alcohol is only sold at state run stores here. Its like 10$ for the cheapest 6 pack of beer, and 10$ for the .375 litre flasks of liquor, and thats the cheap stuff. Our currency is so crappy these days that the exchange rate is barely 10% now. Anyways, we're paying 3$ an hour for this webcafe, so lates.
