Strike Day 5

Hm. I wonder if I should still think of this as a strike?

Highlights from the Doctors appointment yesterday
  • I like the new pediatrician.  She's young, energetic, she listens to me.  At the end she asked about Dr. Burk and I said "We just don't click.  I have been dealing with mediocrity for months for fear of something worse. It was finally time to ( Read more... )

She sounds nice. That's so important.

My mom says I refused to nurse starting when I was about 13 months old. So yeah, her supply dried up and that was that.

I'm not sure if you talked to the doctor about this, or if you mentioned this before and I didn't see it, but... What if you tried breastfeeding Morella again, just to see? I mean, if she can take liquid that isn't thickened now, then maybe... I'm sure you know what more about the mechanics of all of it, like why the sippy cup is or isn't easier, but I was just wondering.

Also, I am sure that Henry isn't drinking nearly as much as he used to. I mean, my breasts are way less full all the time, so he couldn't possibly be drinking as much as he used to. When they used to be full, they would be engorged and hard, now when they're full, they're just slightly less soft. Totally different. I can't quantify the difference, but it's very noticeable. And the sippy cup is more like something he takes a few drinks from and then plays with, so there's not a lot of drainage going on there. I haven't been worried about it at all, but it is something that I've noticed. I mean, it's very noticeable that he's not on a liquid diet anymore and that he's just supplementing his food with something to drink. I'm throwing it out there just because they're so close in age and it might just be a thing they do at this point. I think the important thing is that she's not dehydrated. It means she's ok.
