my subject is subject....my life is subject to change.....and those around will feel my pain and laughter as i subject -Me
so, since the last time i updated i got got 2 parades to drum major. practices have been going wel and my arm doeswnt get sore from doing stands anymore. on wednesday i started going to FWPS which is a band camp for stundents in the areas so far south that there is no way of getting to memorial stadium unless you have an organized bus thing for every single day and practice...which with the amount of practices the FWPS kids are doing this year...it would cost alot of money. also, unlike previous years, FWPS is doing torchlight in combonation with the all city band. the last few years we do federal way and auburn but this is one thing that is new and has unsettled a few members of the all city band up north. but all in all, its kinda cool. so anyways the last three days of practice down there, i drum majored for their little 40 member band. i learn lead position which is a little harder than the assistant, but is similar in many ways. the only real difference is song calls when going down the band cuz the lead doesnt go down the band and knowing all the signals to tell the assistant whats going on. now, my first parade was soul festival the same day as Olympia. In the drum major core, there are three parades you can earn what are called "Oak Leaves" which are two little golden oak leaf pins that symboilize pride and are top honors for drum majors. to acquire these pins, you must know your role and drum major one of the three major parades that all city does. there's Olympia, West Sea, and torchlight. on my second day of knowing lead i was given the lead position for west sea parade and was given my oak leaves as a rookie. a big achievement considering only a total of two people before me have done so in the 4 years that all city has been established, as far as i know. im totally sure about that fact but thats what i heard. anyways, so i also did the chinatown parade. i got a nice big scrape from bashing the left side of my nose with my baton. good times. Alex, my staff member, got a nice video of it and i yelled out PIRDE BITCHES....THAT RIGHT THERE IS PRIDE....
yeah good times drum majoring......
i also saw chloe today, we had fun today. i hung out and we went downtown. we had fun messing with each other and playing thumb war on the bus. we checked out some shops, had food, talked about random crap and i dropped her off at home and then went home myself. it was quite enjoyable.
hopefully i dont get greenwood to drum major....my arm is way to tired...so mleh........going to bed now.......well more like at midnight but you all dont care...and IM SICK!!!
