Today was a good day, surprisingly. I took Erin into Coquitlam to get her present for my dad. She got him Stargate SG-1 season seven. Incidentally just as I left rez i had just finished season six, so I have this urge to rip it open and watch it myself.
I got to go see alaina this evening! It was a lot of fun. I haven't seen her since finals. Shopping and dinner. Right now i'm very alert, having had a latte and a very sugar-filled desert at dinner. It was great to see her though.
I had to go to chapters to get my dad a book for fathers day (Enterprise...he keeps stealing my star trek books so I figured it was high time he had one of his own). I went and looked at the politics books. I have discovered I am weak next to a good politics book. More powerless than I am before shoes or cute shirts. I got this awesome-looking one called Cretien and Canadian Federalism: Politics and the Constitution, 1993-2003 by Edward McWhinney. It was really sad, the lack of canadian politics books they had there. There was: a shelf and a half of canadian; two whole sections of american books minus the shelf and a half of canadian; and lastly one section of international books. Truly unfortunate. So that makes two politics books, starting my collection. Along with an already growing stack of newspapers....
I'm having my last conversation with Taryn right now. I'm doing ok with this I think. It was good I saw Alaina today, I think that helped. Tonight I won't be upset or attempt to make a fight with anyone, I promise. I am going to attempt to watch Stargate Atlantis Rising. I am attached to the original Stargate cast, but I will give this a try.
Little Known Fact: In Newfoundland when you get your learners driving permit, you are not required to have anyone with you in the car as a supervisor or instructor. The only restriction is that you do not drive before midnight. You get to learn how do drive all on your own, trial and error way. That's a scary thought!
