Happy anniversary dear old Grandparents.
So... My grandparents 60th anniversary was yesterady!
60 years they have been togeather. 60. My grandparents have been togeather through the best and the worst of times. They have been through both wars, depression and to this day are still as happy as ever togeather. Their love for one another is.....is... there is nothign that can even start to explain the love they have for one another. Sure my grandmother nags, and my grandfather is stubborn as hell soemtimes, But these two have still not lost the genuine love for one another.
My Grandparents have given me hope that I too one day will find my sweet heart that I too can share 60 years and more with.
Tomorrow is the day where I truely tell my grandfather what he means to me. He is the man that I hope to be like when im 87. My grandfather is truely a man's man. He has a heart made out of solid gold, a hand always out stretched to those in need, and hell.. he knows best.
I remeber being 5 or so, and stomping around teh house in his to big for my feet shoes, and one of his many dress jackets and his glasses that took up my entire face. And I remeber looking into the mirror, and hoping that I would one day too be the man he was. Have his strong workign hands, have his genuine heart, and his blue eyes who see the good in everyone. I will never forget the way he smells... the original old spice scent is what I will never forget.
My Grandfather, even being 87 has switched pronouns, my name, and calls me his grandson. Last weekend he came down stairs to give me something. He handed me a tiny blue box. Inside the box was all of his cuff links, some of his rings and tie clips. He looked at me and put his hand on my shoulder. he told me that he wouldnt want any one else but me having them. This man means the world to me.
And I know that i have not always been the most easy person with him, and him and I have had our little stubborn moments. But when it comes down to it, I love this man more then he will ever know.
My Grandmother is the luckiest woman in the world to have this man as her husband.
