I have never in my life wanted the Thanksgiving holidays to last as long as I did this year. Considering that at first it seemed like it was going to suck balls because my bitch aunt decided to cancel and take her "family" (read: her husband and three kids and their rich friends) on vacation to Chicago, it ended up pretty good. Even with the short notice my mom and dad had to get my other cousins to come, they still pulled through. My dad's brother, his wife, and their two kids (Tony+Gabby) came down on Wednesday and left earlier today. It was the best four days I've had in a while and it was so much fun having them here. I'm not surprised though, I always have a blast with Tony and Gabby. Although, all the progress I make trying to turn myself into a respectable adult (lol yeah right) goes out the window when they come into town, I always end up acting like a buffoon with them. The only part that sucked about Thanksgiving was that poor Derek was so sick. :( He managed to pull through last night and came over though.
Thanksgiving day itself was pretty much the norm, it's barely a holiday in that the only thing different about it from any other day is a crapload of sweets and huge turkey. We had a cold front come through the day before, so that day we were all practically shivering at the dinner table because the house just wasn't warm enough. I think it was because so many people were coming in and out and the door had to be left open at times. And at one point the back door in the kitchen blew open WHILE we were eating, so I was all "wtf why is there a breeze in here?" until I finally realized the door was open. Kendall decided to wear her little beret to the table, but she put it on wrong so I asked Derek to fix it and as he leaned over to do it the flimsy little chair he was sitting on gave out and he hit the floor like a sack of potatoes. From mine and Gabby's point of view it was FUCKING HILARIOUS because his right arm sort of went into the air as though it was going to keep his balance while the rest of his body fell, so when he started to hit the floor his arm kind of went down slowly like it was riding an elevator by itself. XD Ahh, good times.
The best part about this week is the freaking awesome game known as ROCK BAND. Tony brought it with his XBOX360, it's this awesome game where you can play as a band (hence the title). It's a zillion times better than that Guitar Hero shit (which I have played also). The guitar controls are a lot easier to understand on Rock Band and the game is more fun for multiplayer and has more customization. You can customize the look of your character, buy them new equipment, and even change their clothes/colors. We named our band "The Harbalz" (brownie point for you if you know what that is), Gabby and Derek shared being the lead singer, I was the bass guitarist, Tony was the lead guitarist, and Kendall was the drummer. It was so. much. fun. I can't express how fun it was, really. Derek even told me they're going to make a Wii version, so naturally I'm positively dripping with excitement.
I'm not exactly sure why, but this time I was more upset than usual when Tony and Gabby left. I've been sort of in a funk all day, I usually always miss them when they leave, just not this much. I think part of it is I only recently realized that Gabby and Tony have the sort of relationship with each other that I want with Kendall, but I feel like I'm having so much trouble achieving it. Those two used to fight all the time, but now they fight less and play a lot of their games together and spend a lot of time together. I don't play games or do a lot of stuff with Kendall mainly because she's 11 and I'm 19. That's sort of a hard age gap to deal with. This last visit Kendall and I fought more than we ever have, and honestly most of it is my fault. I always say I want to try harder not to argue with her but I lose my temper so easily and forget that she's just 11. I can't even imagine how annoying I was at 11. Especially because I'm a lot meaner than Kendall and I have a dirtier mouth.
Normally I'd also be sad because I have classes again next week, but I'm actually looking forward to it. It's my last "solid" week of classes and most of them are going to be either blow off or review classes. My finals are the week after (the first week of December) and I only go Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday for my five separate exams. Then I'm off until Christmas!
That's it for now, my Mario Kart DS isn't going to play itself.
