So, I'm in a really bad mood. Today I worked 7 hours at DD and then 4-1/2 later on at MB. Having gotten caught up in Harry Potter last night, I only got 4-1/2 hours of sleep last night. Granted, that was my fault - I was not at all surprised when I was half-asleep at work this morning (at 6am). But I hadn't expected everyone on the premises to simultaneously go psycho. The man who owns most of the DD's in this area was there, and there was something about an inspection... Janet treated me like dirt (as she normally does). Moe got mad at everyone over things that she was actually mistaken about herself, and it all hit a charming climax when I neglected to tell a couple of guys fast enough that they needed to go over to the "pick-up sign" to collect their sandwiches. Janet, as I'm opening my mouth to let them know, asks "are you waiting for sandwiches?" They respond in the affirmative, and she directs them to the sign. She then grabs me roughly on the arm and snaps "you need to tell the customers to go to the pick-up sign." I considered quitting then and there. Nowhere, in my book, is it professional or appropriate for a fast-food manager to man-handle her employees - especially in front of customers.
Tonight, i'm working my shift at MB, still sick with my cold, and still tired, when a woman comes through and asks if I work at DD. I respond that I do, and she goes off about how I gave her the wrong thing this morning, and keeps demanding in a shrill voice, "why did you *do* that??" I have no clue who this lady is, whether I misheard her, or was working with someone else who told me the wrong thing, or what - any number of things could have gone wrong with her order, and I'm just dying to snap back that she should've had the sense to check her food before she drove home and make sure it was right. (who doesn't do that with fast food if they have a big order???) But I just told her, "I was tired this morning; I honestly couldn't tell you." To which she begins laughing "no more partying for you! No more partying for you!" Granted, I was reading last night, but that's not partying, and why does she have the ignorance to see me working two separate jobs *In ONE DAY* and yet assume that if I'm tired it's because I'm partying?
later on I remembered which order it was - I specifically recall because she ordered two untoasted bagels; one with cream cheese, the other with bacon, egg and cheese. I thought it was strange that she wanted an untoasted bagel for a sandwich, but I did say the order back to her; if she misheard me then, then how is it so strange for me to have misheard her? But, goodness, I never expected people from DD to go all the way to MB just to harass me, lol.
Meanwhile, I cannot get ahold of the Regency, and they will only give out my apartment information to me personally. But their office hours are only from 5-7 MT, which is 7-9 here, and their line is always busy when I call - and leaving a message is useless, b/c they just call back the next day while I'm at work. (I work every other night, so if I'm home on a given night in order to call them, I'm almost certain to not be home the next night if they return the call. But they don't know that. I've tried to convince Jenny to call them and pretend to be me, but she always "forgets."
Ugh, I hate people and wanna go hide in a nice cave somewhere far, far away.
