why reading is dangerous

I have learned this lesson time and time again. Since I first became engrossed in books in third grade I have found on many occasions that immersing myself in any particular book or series is far too easy, and that the books tend to control my emotions. I become to absorbed in the books that characters often seem real to me. I will catch myself

I can't believe that you would read Harry Potter!!! (at least this is the first time I heard that you have)
But now that you have (or I know) wasn't Rowlings an idiot to kill Sirius?

You're kidding! You didn't know I was a potter fan??? I was reading Harry Potter before Pottermania hit. I think I started the books back when only the first two were out. My mom, being an English Lit teacher, had heard about the books (but hadn't read them, I got them from Ms. Reefe's classroom), and they were being "talked about," but not many people had actually read them yet. And, wow, did those books suck me in... I recall being at class (in middle school), and just feeling as if the books were screaming out my name! There was just something so absorbing about them. And then, of course, there's that clever habit she had in the first book of ending a chapter just as the action built up for the next chapter. It made all of my "just one more chapter" good intentions obsolete

I think that the twin idea is on the mark 'cause *I* don't belong to this family but back to Potter--I must have known that you were reading the books cause Tad got into them right off the bat as well...and I know that annoying habit of ending the chapter in the wrong place!!
What did you think of Sirius being killed?
