Today we went to the museum of Stone Tablets and got to see some of the most beautiful Chinese calligraphy ever. It was etched into the stone and was breath taking to look at. It is such a remarkable record of family's, people, dictionaries, laws and etiquette. I was in awe.
After that we went to my favortie stop in Xian. We went to the Muslim mosque, or Great Mosque as they call it. The mosque was the most beautiful temple I have seen. The architecture, curves of the roof tops, the stone carvings and the arrangement of the four different courtyards took my breathe away. There were quite a few tourists visiting, but it was very peaceful. The trees were in bloom and there were an large amount of birds that sang the whole time we were there. We also got to have a private conversation with the curator of the mosque and he gave us a very detailed introduction to his brand of Muslim he was "Hui" Muslim and answered any questions that we had. I felt very welcome and informed after we had spoken.
It was my favorite place in China so far.
We went to the Muslim bazaar near there after visiting the Mosque and truthfully I could have just stayed in the mosque for a while longer. It really is an amazing beautiful place. I recommend it to anyone.
