(no subject)
So we had a covnersation in my lit calls the other day about how people communicate, my teacher was saying how she hates "texting" and IM and e-mail and things of that sort. It was argued that it become a more viable option for convience, due to distances or time constraints and what. But, she said that phone calls are just as good, and actually going to see a person is even better if they live nearby. All this got me thinking about how I communicate with people.
All the people I know here I talk to in person with one or two exceptions. I do not use my cell phone, nor do i have anyone's screen name, phone number or email. I jsut walk over and say hi, or find them in the dining hall or whatnot.
However, i also realized that these are the only people i really talk to. I haven't kept in touch with anyone at home hardly at all. I talk to Meghan regularly, and Elysse not as often but more than others. I owe Mike a phone call, i swear i'll do that soon. But, really, I haven't talked to anyone more than once or twice by phone or otherwise. Which got me thinking, is everyone doing the same thing? Or am i the only one who hasn't tried to stay in contact? These are the people who i am cloesest to in the world and care about deeply, and yet i have talked ot soem of them in months? when i'm sure we all have tons of experiances to share. Maybe we're waiting till we're all home in person to have a big sharing time, but why? Why have i not talked to Ben or john or mike or colin or jo or sandra or sonni or luke or anyone else? Maybe everyone jus tuses facebook, and since i don't like using facebook to talk to people i'm out of touch. But really, I should call people more. and you know what, i'm going to. Everyone look out this week, my phone is going to be busy.
Actually, not this week, cause i'm in the theatre the whole time...but startign the near future, upon RTAC returning my life. YOu're all getting phone calls. Starting with mike, right now.
So a message to everyone, you call call me, email me, IM me, whatever. Let's just talk alright?
