To the People of North Haven:
I used to be proud of my hometown. I was from North Haven, home of the Indians, 86th best place in the United States to live, and more importantly, a great community. Every trip home brings more heartbreak. I read the local papers and there are near-slanderous discussions of government, the town divided between Democrats and Republicans. Pointing fingers, blaming others, name calling -- these are things I would expect to see and hear at North Haven High School, not Town Hall. I think it's near time the citizens of my former town realize that there are not two North Havens. There is not a right side or a wrong side. It takes a whole populace to advance a community, not half of it. I hope you all can fix this, more than anything. Then I will once again be proud of where I came from.
But from what I've seen, my son or daughter will be writing this letter years from now.
Formally Yours,
A UConn Student
