I'm never going to get the years back

Beavers lost bad! I don’t want to make excuses but the ducks are like tenth in the nation and we’re lucky if we even make the top 50. So yeah. It was a sad, sad game.

That night, I went to Senses Fail and Saves the Day.

The first band, Emanuel was pretty good. The guy had a good screaming voice and their songs were fun. I saw the singer after their set and he was really short. He wasn’t that much taller than me! The second band was The Early November. They were good, I enjoyed them a lot. I didn’t think I would know much of their set but thanks to my brother, I knew 6 of the 8 songs that they sang and one I couldn’t have known because it was brand new. So that was cool. I enjoyed them a lot. So much for me hating them like I used to.

Oh yeah, after one song of The Early November, they turned on the lights and stopped the music and I was confused. I guess the barrier in the front had broke and the manager needed all of them to take a step backwards. I was on the side so it didn’t matter so I just watched everyone. Everyone in the back stepped back but it didn’t have the effect in the front that it should have so the manager started to get really pissed. He asked the band to ask us hoping that we would listen to the band but it still didn’t work. Then the manager started to swear at us and he said if we didn’t get the results he needed, he would cancel the show. Eep! And then everyone was all screaming at him and some guy flipped him off and the manager saw and was like, “flip me off one more fucking time and I will cancel the damn show, come on do it.” I was so scared!!! But then everyone started to give him a thumbs up and eventually everyone cooperated. Crazy times.

Senses Fail was third. They were amazing. They had an extremely long set which was awesome. I picked 6 songs that I wanted them to sing and they sang all of them :) I’m good at wanting bands to play songs that they never play so I was pleasantly surprised. The crowd was fun, a little bit rough for me but still fun.

Saves the Day was last. OMG! The singer sucked. Me and my brother thought he sounded like a chipmunk and then I heard some girls talking in the bathroom and they were comparing his voice to Kyle from South Park. Not a bad comparison. I was shocked though, he didn’t sound that bad last time I saw them. I heard Rocks Tonic Juice Magic and then I said, “we’re outta here.” I couldn’t stand his voice anymore.

I had to come back to the apartment that night because I had group meetings the next morning. My boy called me at 1 in the morning. I told him to call sometime after midnight because I knew I would be out late and I had just finished getting ready for bed then so it was perfect timing. We talked until about 2. He was being super sweet and I could tell he’s missing me because he was asking me when he could see me next and he was being all cute. Sigh, I miss him.

It was a bitch to wake up Sunday morning. I had a 10:00 meeting with my business group. I didn’t feel like it was as productive as it could have been. Oh well. Then I had another group meeting at 1:00. That was fun. It was fun just chilling with everyone. We all watched TV and just chatted.

Around 7:30, I left for the Allister show with my brother and Kimo. The first band, Denver Harbor, was alright. I had heard their stuff before but I just couldn’t get over how they weren’t Fenix TX anymore so I never really got into them. The second band, Houston Calls was really good. I liked them a lot. They had an Asian playing the piano/keyboard and it was really fun to watch him because he rocked out like a crazy Asian. The third band, can’t even remember their name pretty much sucked. I didn’t like the guys voice which made all the songs sound the same.

And then it was ALLISTER!!! They were soooo good. They didn’t sing my song which was really sad. I was really bummed about that. I started the pit for Somewhere Down In Fullerton. Lol. That was fun. Tim was sooo hot. I wanted to jump on stage and make out with him. Lol. They’re all soo good. Their songs rock, they sound just as good as they do on their CD, possibly better.

After they played, Kimo and I met Scottie and Kyle. Scottie was such a sweetheart, just like he was last time. He drew pictures for me and Kimo. He drew a panda bear for me :) And when I gave him my poster to sign, he was like, “Haven't I met you before?” And I said that I had talked to him last time they were here and he was like, “oh yeah” And then he pointed where I was standing for their set and said, “Yeah I saw you in the crowd tonight, you were standing over there.” That was pretty cool. He’s such a nice guy.

And then it was FENIX TX!!!! They had a crazy set. I started a pit for the first song, I just ran in and shoved everyone and then went back to stand by Kimo. Lol. They played pretty much all the songs I wanted them to sing. They also broke out into some cover songs. They stopped in the middle of songs many of times to do random shit. The singer left to get a drink from the bar halfway through “Threesome.” Their whole set was just hilarious. Too amusing. It was like comedy hour plus music. I love the singer's voice, it was so cool to hear them live even though I know I've seen them a couple of times before. He sounds like the CD.

And then to finish off the night, I got to talk to my boy :) I miss him so much.
