Work is so tiring. Today was a busy day. It seems that the days, at least early on in my shift have been a lot busier than I would have expected. It starts to slow down around 4, but my shift usually ends around 5 or 6. Working in retail has been a good experience for me. It has helped me see how much I love helping people. It's just such a great feeling.
It has also helped me to see how trusting and kind I am. I don't doubt people when maybe I should. I don't think the worse in people, I assume the best. So today, a guy returned some sheets without a receipt. And with JCPenney's return policy, we are allowed to take back the merchandise, we just have to put it on a giftcard (store credit). So his total exceeded $100 and it gave me an error because JCP is not completely stupid. There was a store credit limit error (he exceeded the amount and I needed a manager's approval to override). I got a hold of the manager and told them what was going on, they gave me approval to override. About 5 minutes later, when I went on break, Jeryl (a lady I work with) came up to me to tell me she believed the merchandise he returned was stolen. How sad. I didn't think to question it. The guy seemed nice. He had a good story. But that's how you have to be to pull off something like that. Apparently, the guy had tried returning the sheets at Meier and Frank prior to seeing us (they were JCP sheets... lol). And M&F tipped us off but there was nothing we could do except not allow him to return it but I had already let him before they decided that. Sad times, it made me feel bad. But the manager did okay it :(
After work, I did some shopping, bought a few new shirts (as if I need any), a dress, and some underwear. With the sale prices everything totaled $140 but because of my discounts and coupons, I got it all for $86. Nice huh? And then I did some shopping with my parents after we had dinner at Wu's Open Kitchen.
I'm getting pretty tired and it's not even 10 yet. I need to do some packing. And then I'll prolly hit the bed early tonight. Doug is supposed to call so we can make plans for tomorrow. Believe it or not, it's our 7 month and I get to spend my first night in my apartment with him :) Well, hopefully, plans can always go wrong.
