Viking disaster!
Yesterday after leaving uni, I walked the long walk home. Decided I should probably phone home so I did that + then bought another phone card thingy. I then went back to the flat where I met my flatmate's mum and did a bit of much needed reading for uni. Didn't do as much as I could but never mind. Sat about some more before I started to make my dinner, spag bol! And it was a success wahey! Trotted down to the phone box to phone David where we chatted for a while and I used up ALL my change :s, but he's worth it! He assigned me the job of finding him cheap flights to fly here at the start of May :D really hope he manages to come! After that, I made my way down to the uni where I was meeting the people from Lancaster. Went to a pub called the Happy Pig where the football was on. Had a good wee chat + then we headed off to the International Night. I was introduced to a fellow Glaswegian who introduced me to some more people from Glasgow but also to his international friends :) we swapped numbers so I'm hoping that will be someone I can venture out with once in a while! Headed home fairly early, really tired and far too warm, plus it cost me 4 quid for a drink!!! AAH! Had a crap sleep again :(.
Woke up early this morning and headed into uni. It's a beautiful day outside today, very warm. Got to where my class was meant to be, but as there were only 3 of us who were interested in it, it got cancelled :(. Actually pretty gutted about it, felt really bad for the lecturers as they had obviously put a lot of time and effort into organising it. This now means that I only have classes on a Wednesday at uni. I can't decide if I'm happy about that or not. I know I should be, but I really wanted to be kept busy all the time so that I wouldn't miss home. I know I'll have to come in and do dissertation work a few days a week, but 6 days of free time in a strange place is a lot. At least I know some people here now so at least I have people I can do stuff with.
Don't know what I'll do for the rest of the day. I am spending so much money but it's so expensive out here that it can't even be helped. Most of it has gone on phone stuff though. But still. It's terrible to say this, but I just feel a wee bit bored over here! I know it's only been a few days, but there isn't a lot to keep me amused. I'm sure it will get better though. Better go find something productive to do I think!
