My thoughts has sort of switched back and forth between wanting to write an Anonymous/The Pirate Bay type of manifesto and justifications for what scans_daily was in a legal sense; I've actually written down more of the latter though. Likewise I've been circling the idea of a http://yro.slashdot.org posting summarizing the situation, but put it off because:
I think other people have a much better idea of -- and have better articulated -- what s_d was and should be as a community than me. The couple lines about s_d's origins said a lot, for example. Boiling it down to "it was legal and Marvel is overreaching like a record label or film studio!" might be tactically useful, but it's a pretty empty vision of s_d.
On the other hand, the idea of putting some slash into slashdot makes me smile inside.
