All right, in all seriousness, I hope everyone else had a nice Memorial Day. I thought I would be spending it babysitting, but instead ... I went to the zoo! There was a baby polar bear, and a baby giraffe, seals, a fantabulous aviary with a room just for tiny, adorable finches and an AQUARIUM. Which, for all its size, was quite fantabulous: everything from huuuuuuuuge, four-foot long fish down to some awesomesauce mantis shrimp - one of the same species someone's been keeping and talking about on the Ultimate Bettas message board, actually! who was rattling some rocks about and then dived into his/her cave when I came to look at him. So beautiful, and soooo cute. I want one, mom!
My Mexican-Fu is Blatantly Weak, a story by Tinderblast, Age 21 and 363 days:
Guy at the Mexican place I went to for lunch: And what kind of salsa would you like with your quesadilla?
Me: What are my options?
Beat.
Guy: Well, how about the mild salsa?
Me: ... Yes, I think I'll take that.
Guy: Okay.
Me: Uh, and some guacamole.
Guy: Sure thing.
Lordy, and I just realized I forgot to mention what I thought of Spider-Man 3*, or to introduce my new fish**. Oops?
Happy graduation to those from my alma mater who are moving on tomorrow. Can't believe it'll have been a year for me. Can't believe that sentence was so awkward, but we can't have everything, can we.
* MJ was a huge improvement; the fight scenes rocked; the mood of the film was kind of a downer, though; OMG James Cromwell!!! - overall, not as good as the second but I liked it more than the first!
** His name is Grendel and he's mildly sick, so everyone wish him well.
