okay, updatedness time... since i havent updated since september
that was forever ago
life goes by much faster nowadays
i remember when i was little making up little tricks and playing mind games on my own mind to make the time go faster, its sad that i can fool myself better than anyone can fool me, but maybe cause ive done most of what they try to do already, it helps to be in the know dont ya know
finally getting around to reading A Clockwork Orange and im loving every moment of it, glad i havent started speaking in nadsat though, that was the one thing i was worried about with reading this. i was reading a review by the author -burgess truly disliked this novel, he hated that it was the most known by the public when he felt it was his worst- and he said that he wrote it in nadsat because in its own way its a mind control device, after watching the movie or reading the book you find that a ludivicos has occured within your own mind and you find yourself thinking of free will and wondering if you truly have it. in my opinion we dont, something from the outside will always hinder what we want, whether it be morals, friends opinions, family rules, we could follow with only what we wanted and go about performing the 'ole in out' or having ' a real horrorshow time with the ole ultraviolence' but we dont, becuase we fear what society will do to us if we did, we fear polic actions and how society, family, friends, neighbors, and complete strangers, will feel and think about what weve done. even the character of alex in a clockwork orange who feels he is and is supposed to follow his own free will doesnt because he has to beware his own little droogies and what theyll do to him if he shows a bit o weakness
its a good thing we dont have completely free will because our society would become a complete horror house, rapings, murders, and the gods know what else would occur daily, hourly even. dont get me wrong, i dont like the society we have nowadays, it disgusts me at the very site. as we grow older we find our heroes as flawed as we are, everything were told was right is wrong and everything else we think is beautiful is killed or in some other way brought down. the teachers we love for the fact that they are good teachers are forced out of our schools, beautiful old trees are chopped down to build a new Vivo in an area already overpopulated with crappy chain restaurants, animals are killed for sport, people commit heinous acts becuase the believe GOD told them to, thou shalt not kill... unless youre twisted mind says your god told you to?!... hmm, dont remember that commandment
wow i <3 tangents
if you remind me or i get feedback ill write more later, at some point, in the hopefully near future, but otherwise im out
wearing the good ole orange and white ribbons or something monday, how bout you?
