Last night, I got to see the New Pornographers, and they were frickin' awesomeness. The Immaculate Machine and Emma Pollock made a good show into a great one, too. If you can check them out on this tour, do so, post-haste. the_lucky_nun and I played lazy-ass old folks and sat up in the balcony and watched our friends boogie down like crazy.

My assistant, Ian, and his girlfriend Annie were rocking out more than anyone else, once again showing that KJHK knows how to party. There was also some crazy-ass woman who was such a pain in the ass that when she was escorted out by security, there was a chorus of cheers.

We stayed up way later than our usual Sunday night bed time, and I was pretty much yawning through the encore, but getting to hear pretty much all the songs I was hoping for made me a happy camper. No "New Face of Zero and One," though... they're not playing it live anymore, which sucks. "The Electric Version," "The Laws Have Changed," "Mass Romantic," "Jackie," "The Slow Descent Into Alcoholism," and "The Bleeding Heart Show" made up for missing one song, tho'. Plus, they sounded way better than the All Songs Considered podcast from last weekend, which had me worried after listening to it.

And I had today off, so I got to sit in front of Z's and drink coffee while I worked on a story that is due tomorrow. It's half done, thanks to the miracle powers of caffeine. Now, it's just waiting for people to call me back, so I can sneak out of the office a little early and hide somewhere in the Union to work on this story a little more before the exec staff meeting at 5.
