Seriously? Really?
So, trusty assistant Ian and I are having a discussion about the new They Might Be Giants album before the exec staff meeting got going last night. I'm explaining how it's really better than I expected, and that the back half of the cd has some amazing stuff.
After I mention that they pretty much peaked with Flood, Ian shook his head and agreed. "Yeah," he said. "They were the first band I ever really got into, like buying all their albums and stuff."
"For me, it was R.E.M.," I responded.
His response? "Yeah, I'm not old enough for that." What the fuck? Seriously? Is it that fucking long since they were a viable artist making stuff that people paid attention to, and not just a classic group to admire?

*realizes that New Adventures In Hi-Fi came out his senior year of high school*
