Improvements needed

Last night was something of a fiasco. Due to mistakes made by both the_lucky_nun and I, we made it out to the Legends, but failed to bring any money with us. I'd forgotten to give her the check card back, and she hadn't checked to see if it was in her wallet.

So, an hour and a half round trip in pretty lousy weather for nothing. By the time we raised brimer on his cell phone, we had already started the trip back to Lawrence, and weren't really speaking to one another. It was movie start time at that point, so we just headed back home.

After a long, incredibly silent car ride home, I sat on the couch and through talking with Tanya for a good hour, discovered that I'm pretty fucking depressed. Like, bad-as-all-hell depressed. On the bright side, I know someone who will hook me up with a supply on Welbutrin. In addition to it being a an anti-depressant, it has a wonderful side effect as a smoking-cessation drug.

At the moment, I've gone about four days without a cigarette. Given the opportunity, I'd smoke a pack in one sitting. Seriously, it's like Bill Hicks said - every damn one looks like it was hand-rolled by Jesus.

I'm managing with large quantities on Dum Dums and Red Vines. I've made it through about a pound of licorice and have been trying to keep myself busy... lots of movies, lots of reading. It isn't that hard with the weather sucking as much as it does, but I have a feeling that it's going to be a while before I can leave the house - which pretty much only serves to make me more depressed and lonely.

On the bright side, I'm going to do a free form shift at KJHK from 4-8pm, so tune into that. It's pretty much an all-rockabilly set, and I should be amenable to people stopping by and saying hey while I kick back and read.
