If any of you ever get the chance to be the presenter at an awards ceremony, do it. I know those opportunities are ever so common... riiiiiiiiight. Anyhow, presenting with Slimm at the Heavy Frequency awards was frickin' cool.
total13 hooked me up with the chance, since he now writes for the site.
It was smoothly ran, well-written, and had the little touches that make for an entertaining time. All the winners walked to accept their awards with their music playing in the background. All the presenters were sat down and informed how it would go prior to anything else happening. Shit like that, the Pitch Awards can't even do that, and this was all organized by a woman who can't even legally drink. Heather's 20.
Needless to say, much of the drive home was Jason and I discussing the fact that Matt totally dropped the ball on both Synapsis and RockKansas. There were so many times where we had ideas that never got followed, but Heather had in full effect this afternoon. What the hell?
Anyway, I was very honored to be able to participate, had a great time seeing some folks that I don't see that often, mixing in a different social circle, and walking out of Jason's apartment with a bunch of cds to rip. Which I am almost done with. Which means I ought to have grabbed more. The hunger was knawing at my belly, however.
