In addition to all the biking I've been doing lately, I figured I might want to incorporate some actual resistance exercises into the mix. The nice thing about resistance exercises is that they're aerobic, and I don't need anything more than my body weight.
So, I settled on the card deck workout. It's effing brutal, kids. Here's how it works:
Hearts / Diamonds = Push ups
Clubs = Squats
Spades = Sit ups
You do as many reps as the card you draw. An 8 of diamonds means 8 push ups. Face cards are ten, aces are eleven, and a joker is a 90 second rest period.
I made it through half the deck on my first try, and I feel like I'm going to explode. By the time I can make it through the entire deck, it'll be like I'm made out of steel. Right now, tho'?
Owowowowowow. I need ibuprofen. Stat.
