brimer is the first member of the Nuthouse to cross the line to 30, thus leaving him open to old man "get off my lawn" jokes until

corkwis and I already get stuck with those jokes because, well, we have lawns.
Because it was substantially cheaper to get Stealth's shots and checkup today than originally though, I took my bike in to get it upgraded today. Nothing special: some minor upkeep, and new grips, seat, and pedals. They're hooking me up on the labor, and I'll pay that back with some bread when I pick it up tomorrow after work. The pedals are pretty damn swank: your basic aluminum BMX pedals, but the pegs are replaceable. So, when they wear down, I only have to replace the little nubs, instead of the pedals themselves. The seat's a new one they pulled off an upgrade, so it's $20 instead of $40 - still brand new, however.
I've been riding the bike enough that I can justify the expenditure, especially as it's way cheaper than a whole new bike, much as I'd like one. This sucker's got quite a few years left on it, as long as I stay on the maintenance. I can't wait until we get the shed next spring, as then I'll have a place to keep it out of the rain.
My review of
Saturday's Avett Brothers show has led to me being called a "hack," "jerk," "tool," and "pathetically biased." Awesome, especially considering many of the complaints leveled are the usual Internet "where's YOUR band, Mr. Critic?" variety. It's nice to know people are reading, though.
