A sense of confusion

All this talk about Joe the Plumber has made me feel like a real idiot.

I didn't figure out until about ten minutes before the debate who the fuck this guy was. In case you're unaware, he became a sort of "Joe Six-Pack" made corporeal when he made some comments to Obama last weekend. He mentioned that if he bought the plumbing business for which he works, he'd make over $250k a year, and thus get hit to the point where he couldn't afford to actually have the business.

Why is this confusing?

The plumber we use at the bakery has a business named - you guessed it - Joe the Plumber. I'm sure his life must be hell right now. Poor guy. He does amazing work, too. I don't want to see him referred to as a "jerk," as they did on some KC blog.

I'm going back to writing my Holocaust lit paper. Somehow, that's less depressing than politics at the moment.
