Sports Nuthouse

The Olympics are pretty much on all day at the Nuthouse right now. I imagine it's going to be this way until the boys go back to school, and probably even then in the evenings and on weekends. the_lucky_nun and I got back from grabbing coffee at the Java Break this morning, and it was just in time to watch the majority of the USA vs. China basketball game. A slow first quarter, but once Wade started dunking, it was pretty much on.

Last night was Steve's bachelor party. We hung out in his backyard (something like thirty guys) watching the UFC pay-per-view. Nice setup - they ran the webcast off a projector onto a screen, which looked pretty good, making me really want to boost my Internet hookup and buy a new PC. My dad and a couple of his buddies were there, even. The title fight was all right, but the Lesnar / Herring fight was brutal. There's a pretty accurate take over at Yahoo! sports. Still, even though it's not "real," I'll stick with the WWE. I prefer non-stop entertainment, as opposed to ten minutes of pacing and holds with about three minutes of actual action.

At the moment, it's the last day of DJ training (although I've got one kid left who doesn't get into town for another couple of days). I'm chilling in the music office while a couple new guys go nuts. I could stand to have a sandwich or something, but I should be able to make it until I have to head into the bakery and prep. As a matter of fact, when you figure in the free form shifts, running the boys around, meetings, DJ training, and work at the bakery, I haven't had a day off in over a week.

sports, party time
