Seriously, someone give me the names of some people with whom I can connect and find a job when I'm at SXSW. The
band listing got posted today, and sickening and compulsively readable as it is, it's the trade show on which I really need to concentrate. The list came in the mail today, and I've given it a cursory glance, which is just about enough to know that I've got my work cut out for me.
Seriously, I'm banking on SXSW as a foot-in-the-door kind of thing towards a job when I graduate. I love working at the bakery, but if I could get an actual job wherein I got paid to do musically-related stuff, all the work I've put into writing and whatnot would actually pay off.
I suppose the best idea is to just keep my head down, make sure I go into SXSW fully prepared with a plan of attack, and concentrate on doing the best job I can at KJHK. There's some stuff coming up wherein I can stretch out my abilities and possibly garner myself an award or two, and it would be senseless to not take those opportunities as they're handed to me.
