POWER OUTAGE 2003 on CAPITOL HILL LAST NIGHT:
from 9:30 til about 11:15 the power was out randomly throughout Capitol Hill --seattle--. Half of broadway market was out, and the other half was in. My street of course was out, but one block up and one block down, they were all fine. The store near us went down, but the laundrymat next to it was fine. The bars continued to serve drinks throughout, and everyone was able to imbibe without too much trouble.
I had to get up a half hour early today... Oh..? Why you say? I have no idea... i awoke at 5am to my girlfriend violently pulling the blankets off me... I sat up and said "I don't have any!" and she calmly said.. you have plenty... and then smothed out the blankets... and why, yes, i did have plenty.. nearly an inch extra of blankets...! It was strange, and i think she may have gone temporarily insane this morning.
Was it revenge for discovering that yes, she too, can be tickled? Was it some latent desire to have complete blanket control? Had i been hogging the remote too much? Video game revenge? I think I'm going to blame this on the lack of electricity from last night... two solid hours of no power.. it was enough to make me want to construct a fire pit, to keep the wolves away. I just don't understand how people lived without electricity... no wonder the average lifespan was 30yrs old back in the day.. life was sooo BORING!
What does today have in store for me? I feel a great sense of potential.. like im going to do something great today... maybe I'm destined to save a life or something... Maybe it's really bad, and I'm fooling myself, "But he that hath the steerage of my course, direct my sail". I love romeo and juliet... the Baz Lurman version was excellent.
See how she leans her cheek upon her hand!
O that I were a glove upon that hand,
That I might touch that cheek!
