Happy Birthday, year
Christmas day was super fun.
We had Misty over for the afternoon and we ate lots of food, played fun games, and opened presents. Presents of note: $50 gift cert to the guitar store and some new picks; spiffy purple scarf; mucho DVDs. Between the hubby and myself we got 30 DVDs! we need a new storage rack just to hold them all. We have lots of TV/movie watching ahead of us.
Day after christmas, Misty and I went shopping and we hung out, very uneventful.
Wednesday, got up and went to our Miracle back doctor, due to back wrenching from breaking up a christmas day dog fight (stupid Kale), got fixed, yay! Met up with Gabe, Steph and the kids, saw Night at the Museum, good family film, funny. Back to Cathy's for 2nd christmas with TONS of gifts for the kids, cause, well, they're kids :)
Thursday, mini golf and more hanging out with the kids. It was Gabe's b-day so he and Steph went to a movie while we took the kids to our place. we played with the dogs, played Yahtzee and Go Fish, and invented a new game called Rock Star. This involved the kids taking turns making up songs while strumming my guitar. I would sometimes make chords for them on the neck but mostly they just strummed and sang and had a blast. Back to Cathy's for dinner, games, hanging out.
Friday, lunch and hanging out at Cathy's, played games and used Sara's (niece) new slurpee machine. then we went Ice Skating. My 2nd time ever, last time was 10 years ago. It's a workout let me tell ya. I did ok, didn't fall, but mostly stayed close to the wall so I could grab on just in case. The kids are fearless, they had a blast and skated for 2 hours! I gave up after 1 hour cause my entire lower body was aching (i am sooo out of shape). Then we had dinner, walked around xmas in the park (we saw our SCA tree, yay) and back to Cathy's for dessert and games.
Saturday, slept in (nice) and lazy day at home. My family arrived at 4:30 pm, and we got in the car and went to Santa Cruz to see the White Album Ensemble doing "Let Abbey Road Be". My dad is an old timer musician and knows some of the guys in the band. It was really cool, these guys are phenomenal. It was cool to see my dad watch a concert and see the guys again after so many years. Then home and sleep.
Today, NYE, slept in (nice again). Then to breakfast with bro and wife. Back home to prep for our big partay tonight, gonna be fun. Goals: avoid anyone going to the hospital, which shouldn't be hard since we've outlawed cheap beer. Gonna make a run to BevMo soon and then the party, Port for me tonight, not sure what kind I'll get yet.
