Worst commute home EVAH!!

Dec 12, 2004 18:26

A normal 20 minute drive home from work just took me an hour and a half. Not only did my car overheat again on the way to work (steam and everything), it was doing it again on the way home.

I expected this.

I took the 8-and-125 home rather than the long and steep 52, in case i needed to stop off somewhere to cool down before it got too hot. Well, as soon as I pulled off onto navajo to cool down a few minutes, it DIES AT THE INTERSECTION! Some guy walking home helps me push it into the taco-bell parking lot. I tried using the store phone, but they sent me to the pay phones. Some taco bell customer gave me money for the phone, but the PHONE ATE MY MONEY! So I went to the ATM to get out some of my own money. There was no walk-up ATM; I had to use the drive-up one. And through a series of accidents and misreading a horrible screen, i accidently OVERDREW 200 DOLLARS!!!! GAHH!! I knew at least $40 was mine, so I went into Save-On for some change, but wasn't watching where I was going and JAB MY HAND INTO THE HANGING BARS, or whatever those things are. So with a cut, bruised, and very sore hand, I get more change for the phone. Joy! No-one's there, and I don't know most people's numbers off hand. I have them on my comp.......at home......-_-. Luckily, I get my car started and make it all the way to the Carlton Oaks/Hills 7-11, where it dies again. I push it myself to the place, realize that its cause i'm out of engine oil, buy some more, and just barely make it home. Once home, I spent 2 minutes trying to log onto JiveJournal 0_o...

So yeah. I had the foresight to check the coolant but not the oil this morning >_<. In my defense, the heating block seems to be broken too, so I couldn't vent the heat/use the heater to begin with. Also, there was NO check oil light. There was the ever-present check gadges light (I assume its there to remind me to check my fule meter/speedometer), and a service engine light on too, which now very suddenly sounds like a good idea............>_
