I've been thinking for a while to study abroad, and since the only other language i know is french, i might as well to go France. But since last night I thought of a new country to visit. Our Australian friend Bjorn left last night for home after five months of traveling the US. I'd never really met anyone Australian, but now i know i would go there just to be with the people there. They are really laid back while still enjoying life and staying active.
It's kinda interesting that Bjorn has seen more of the US than i have, and it makes me feel that there's way more out there than little ol' Fallbrook or even my school. I thought moving 500 miles away from home would open me up to new experiences and a new environment, but i've really only moved to another small, conservative town that is as isolated as the place i grew up in.
I guess this is just something that college does to you, shows people the bigger picture and proves that there is something bigger and better than our selfish wants and aspirations. It's just something i've been thinking about lately.
