Can I just say how amazing it is to drive? Seriously, if you take it for granted think about how much of a necessity a car is. In many countries it's a luxury reserved for the privileged few. Here it's a staple. You can live without a car, especially in cities with a very developed public transportation system, but when it's not it's practically impossible. Dallas is one of the very few cities I know of that doesn't have a 24 hour public transportation system. The farther you get from Downtown the harder it is to get around. Anyway, having the ability to just go wherever it is you need to get to without relying on timing the buses is awesome. Don't get me wrong, though, in the mornings and evenings it's so much better for me to take the bus and not have to deal with rush hour traffic. You have no idea how many times I've been on the train overlooking gridlock traffic on I-75 while I zoom past. XD It's lovely. But if I have to get somewhere in the late afternoon or if I have to work late (which I totally can do now, woo!!) it's a wonderful thing to have.
