So, while in Denver this past weekend, my friend mentioned that we should ride the Cog Railroad and go to the top of Pike's Peak. This sounded like a lot of fun. I've never been to the top of a really really tall mountain. Off we went. but first, my friend grabbed really big jackets and gloves and hats. "But it's only 40 degrees outside" I said. "but it's going to be really cold at 14,000 ft." he said.
He was right. I now know what -25 degrees feels like and I would never like to feel it again. I lasted 15 minutes outside before I wussed and made my friend go inside for hot chocolate. I have no idea how Tally managed to live like that for months on end. I really admire her for having done that.
