i bought tickets to the home opener of the Ducks on October 10. i am so excited, first hockey game in more than 15 months. we will be sitting in the club section.
i'm also planning on going to a san jose shark game in december vs the hurricanes. I have a reception to go to in santa maria which is half way between my home and san jose. so why not just drive the 3 hours and go to san jose. i just wanted an excuse to go to a game. one thing i want to do is see a game in each nhl areana so this just helps me reach my goal. next is either vancouver or phoenix.
i have a reception that i am supposed to go to on december 17 and i will be killed if i dont go. well i just realized that i have 2 finals that day and one is til 2:30, the reception is at 2. school comes first.
watching the news last night it was really cool to see selanne passing to fedorov on the rush. awesome.
CAUSE: Brian Burke vacates his duties speedbagging Glenn Healy during lockout-related debates on a Canadian sports network to take Anaheim¹s GM job. He doesn't take long to make his mark, signing prized free agent Scott Niedermayer, hiring new coach Randy Carlyle and bringing back fan favorite Teemu Selanne.
EFFECT: The Ducks finish second to the Penguins in the Sidney Crosby sweepstakes, but they wind up neck-and-neck with Pittsburgh as the league's most improved franchise. That¹s because goalie J-S Giguere proves he doesn't need 12-inch pads to dominate the league again; because Niedermayer, freed from the Devils' ultra-conservative enclave, has a 90-point season while allowing his hair to grow down to his waist; and because Sergei Fedorov rehabilitates the family name with a career year.
