To restrict wo can post to your journal do the following
after logging in, goto this page

http://www.livejournal.com/manage/

click "Edit Personal Information"

then scroll down to where it says "Who can reply to your entries"
if you select Registered then that will prevent all the anonymous posters
if you select Friends then only people on your friends list can post
