obama. i have been actually been thinking about it for awhile and i was leaning towards mccain and palin b/c i truly like those two, esp palin and her experience as mayor of alaska and the good she has done for that state. truly impressive. she might not be articulate or well schooled as other politicians but does that really matter when her actions have far outweighed all of that. she has done so much good for alaska, lowering taxes while still being able to increase state revenues and for alternative energy, but what finally cemented my decision to vote for obama was the fact that he wants to end the war in iraq. b/c if there's one thing i hate, it's the war in iraq and how much money and lives we have wasted going into it. and as much as i want to vote for mccain and palin i have to go with barack on this one.
however there are plenty of things i don't like about barach. i don't like barack's economic plan, b/c it just seems that people won't be able to expand their businesses with his taxes, ie joe the plumber (btw i feel bad for joe and all the unneeded publicity he's suddently getting). i agree that it's very pointless to tax the wealthy but not the middle class or poor, b/c let's say that the middle class and poor manages to increase their business, their income, their wealth etc. with his tax plan he'll just keep everyone within their respective income bracket allowing no room to expand or move on up. i would like less government involvement please.
even though i agree on more issues with mccain, the war in iraq just outweights it all for me.
if you can't tell i'm very indecisive though with a lot of things. i like how barack wants to implement all these programs but can the average american family afford it? in the end, will it be worth it? i don't know. if these programs do help, i'm all for it, but if they don't work why try it? i like mccain's plan in weeding out those programs that don't work.
btw, interject if i've said anything wrong.
i also love it how palin is so easily to be made fun of, especially with that accent. i hope we see more of her in the future, vice president or no vice president.
on a completely different note i want to transfer to another school. i love depauw and all but i need a new environment, new outlook, new perspective on things. i need a new school b/c i feel like i'm not expanding within the confines of depauw and the everyday drone it has to offer me. i'm thinking about either kenyon or bard college. i know my advisor is going to hate me for this, especially since the due date is nov 1st for all these stupid forms. you guys were right, i should have gone to bard. look at me now, regretting my decision. not actually regretting b/c i've learned so much from depauw but wished i had a second chance.
oh and i went skating today for the first time since school started and let's just say i landed my double loop, salchow, and single axle. damn. why can't depauw be near an ice rink. after practice the whole OU hockey team came marching in. talk about hot overload.
