Free stuff

Today was the career fair and man, there were so many cool companies there. Intel, AMD, Sun Microsystems, Amazon.com, Shell, Exxon-Mobil, Google, and a whole bunch of other companies had booths setup to answer questions and look at people's resume. Best of all, they gave out a whole bunch of free stuff! Like pens, water bottles, T-shirts, etc. Those water bottles were pretty high quality too. They were just like the Nalgene ones. I didn't get one because I went to the fair a little too late but I still got a half-dozen shirts so I'm happy ;) Although I gave my resume to a bunch of local start ups, the chances of landing an internship as a freshman is pretty small. The typical conversation with a big company went like this:

Me: Do you have any summer internship opportunities for freshman?
Them: Yep we have summer internships.
Me: For freshmen???
Them: Umm.... not exactly...

Oh well
