Morning entertainment

I realized this morning that I've never written about my daily entertainment. You see, I start my morning with a train ride that's full of groups of private school students, mostly high school. This means that I get to watch all of those wonderful interactions between highschoolers; who's dating whom, which girls are saving seats for the cute guy, who's not talking to who this week, etc.

Here's the cast from the train I'm usually on -- since I only get to watch I don't know names so I'm using the initials of the stop where they get on:

The Girls
D - She seems to be the leader of the girls on the train, and at one point was dating A (I think)
SA - The second of the girl squad, she usually sits with D unless one of them is saving a seat for the cute guy
There are a couple of minor supporting roles here -- one from A who never is allowed to sit with anyone, but they're not on all the time

The Boys (there are more of these, so I'm going to have to number some of them)
D - I haven't decided if he is the female D's brother or not -- he's one of the ones who almost always sits alone and makes sure he stays that way by putting his backpack on the seat next to him, and usually sleeps through the whole ride
L - Another loner and almost always in the back of the car, athough he frequently sits with A (also known as "the cute guy") and at least leaves the seat next to him open
MV1 - (there's a whole flock that gets on at MV) he's seems to be the leader of the MV guys, but still usually sits alone and listens to his iPOD
MV2 & MV3 - These two are friends, and usually sit together
MV3 - He's the really smart one, kinda strikes me as a 30yo in a 16yo body, if you know what I mean. He's also the one I'm convinced is gay, everything from the way he dresses (the scarf that had to be just so around his neck yesterday for example) to the way he talks and acts -- but he seems to be friends with everyone else
(there are others from MV, but they aren't regulars)
A - "the cute guy", the one that I have actually seen being the "rope" in a tug-of-war between the two girls
A2 - I almost forgot about him -- he used to get on at any number of spots and is one of the guys that no one wants to sit next to

The dynamics are fun to watch -- everyone will see "A2" waiting for the train and will start moving backpacks around so there are no open seats and will even move from seat to seat to make sure there isn't any room. "A" will get on the train and the exact opposite will happen. "D" and "L" are lucky -- they get on the train early enough that their preferred seats are almost always open.
