Chapter 3

“You went too far this time Heechul.” The Chinese man said as he kept his eye on the beautiful man who was currently sitting on his chair reading a manuscript from a new writer. “He is already hurting and you make it worst.”

“I’m doing it for his own good. Siwon isn’t here anymore to protect him.” Heechul said without even looking at his boyfriend. He did feel bad but this was the only thing he could come up with to make Hyukjae write again. He didn’t want the boy to write again just to make money… he just misses the old Hyukjae who would barge into his office with a gummy smile every time he finished a novel.

“And that hurts you…” Hangeng whispered but Heechul acted as if the other had said nothing. Hangeng gave up and left Heechul alone. No matter what he told the man would never listen so he thought it would be better to just leave him be.

On the other hand Heechul sighed when he saw his lover leaving. “Stupid Chinese… always leaving when you can’t handle me.” Heechul whispered.

Heechul stood up from his desk and walked around the office thinking of ways to help Hyukjae be the cheerful boy he used to be; but nothing came to mind. “You can’t hide in your room forever Hyukjae… you need to learn to live without our siwon.” Heechul bitterly said.

He walked over to where he had set Hyukjae’s bear. As he reached for it a flashback came in mind when the teddy bear was bought. The thought of it brought tears to his eyes but he couldn’t cry because he was Heechul of course he wouldn’t ruin his beautiful face with tears. Not to mention the bruise Hyukjae had left on his right cheek.

After looking at the bear and remembering quite some time the past he decided to call Leeteuk and see how the boy was doing. When Leeteuk picked up the phone, Heechul could only hear Hyukjae still crying and Leeteuk sighed before saying “He’s still crying and saying he won’t ever write for you ever again.”

Heechul also sighed and massaged his right temple. “I’m only worried about him. I don’t want to hurt him anymore than he already is, but if we let him continue like this then he won’t ever be happy again.”

“Give him a little more time. He’ll smile again.” Leeteuk said. Deep down he was afraid that Hyukjae would never smile again, but he couldn’t give up just yet. He had to make his two cousins smile again. “I have to go, Hyukjae just locked himself in his room again.”

“Let me know anything that happens with him.” Heechul said and hung up. Once again he stared at the bear and frowned. “Stupid horse…” he whispered.

Sungmin was walking around a nearby park ever since he stormed out of the house with tears running down his cheeks. It had been about 2 hours and he had barely stopped crying after going around the park for more than 10 times. People had been watching him and he could sometimes hear them whisper about him and Kyuhyun. Who wouldn’t? everyone knew who he was since Kyuhyun had a huge company. Everyone knew who the Cho’s were.

He didn’t care and didn’t pay much attention to what they were saying, and he surely wasn’t going to leave. That park was special to him since it was where he first met Kyuhyun. Where he first fell in love with the guy. They had seen each other in school but due to Sungmin being 2 years older they never had a chance to meet. Till one day Sungmin was lost and wondered to that park at late at night.

Flashback
Sungmin had been walking for at least 2 hours trying to find his way back home. He had missed the last bus home thanks to his brother who probably ran to see his boyfriend. He heard a sound behind him but he didn’t give much attention to it. This was the safest place around Korea; it was probably a cat or something. Plus he could beat up who ever tried to attack him.

He approached the swings and sat down giving up hope on finding his way back home. There was nothing he hated more than asking one of his friends for help but he really needed someone to come get him before he starved to death or froze to death. So he took his phone out of his pocket and was about to dial Leeteuk’s number when he heard the same sound again. He was sure it wasn’t a cat this time because it sounded closer and heavier. He was sure it was a human’s footsteps.

Without much thought he grabbed a tight hold of the swing and swing his body flipping the one who was behind him and pinning him to the ground. Sungmin was surprised to see a younger guy with a pained expression on his face which looked familiar. He knew he had seen the guy before but he couldn’t remember where.

“Where do I know you from?” Sungmin asked the boy who seem to still be in pain.

“Yeah I go to the same school you do…” the boy grown in pain.

Sungmin lowered his face to see the boy a little better and giggled when he saw the blush on the other’s face. “Can you let me go now?” the boy asked.

“Not till you tell me why you are following me.” Sungmin said.

The boy rolled his eyes. “I’m not following you… I just saw you and you seemed like you needed help.” He replied.

Sungmin got up and freed the other and helping him up. “I could have hurt you kid. Don’t sneak on people like that again or you will definitely get hurt.”

“I’m not a kid!” the boy growled.

“Sure you’re not… what’s your name kid?” Sungmin teased the boy again. He thought the other looked cute when he frowned.

“Kyuhyun, Cho Kyuhyun.” The boy replied.

The feminine boy nodded and smiled. “I’m Lee Sungmin!” he cheerfully said. “And no I don’t need help!” Sungmin said.

“Okay, well then I’ll be going now.” Kyuhyun said and started walking away.

“Wait!” Sungmin said stopping the other from going away. “Would you happen to know the number of a taxi or something?” he shyly asked.

The other shook his head making Sungmin frown. He really had no choice but to bother Leeteuk. “I could give you a ride.” Kyuhyun offered. But Sungmin quickly shook his head. “Don’t worry I won’t do anything to you, I’m just a kid.”

“I know but it’s too much bother. I’ll manage.” Sungmin said and smiled.

“It’s no bother. I’ve nothing else to do anyways.” Sungmin started thinking but didn’t have enough time to decide since the other grabbed his hand and pulled him.

End Flashback

Sungmin wiped a tear from his eye. “Where did I go wrong? Why do you hate me so much Kyuhyun.” He slowly walked towards a bench and sat down thinking of what he would do now.

He couldn’t see a clear road without Kyuhyun. “How can I start over without you Cho Kyuhyun?” without caring if someone saw him he started to cry out loud letting his pain out.

“Where are you going?” Leeteuk asked Hyukjae when he saw him putting on his jacket.

The other looked at him and Leeteuk saw he had just wiped the tears. “I’m going to see Sungmin hyung. I have a few things to talk with him.” Hyukjae replied as he put on his shoes.

“Ok, but be careful and don’t come back late.” The older simply said. He knew he couldn’t hold the other.

Hyukjae slowly made his way to his hyung’s house. He had to know that his brother was ok and not hurting like he was. If he couldn’t be happy he wanted his brother to be happy, and for that he would have to find out the reason why his brother was having problems with Kyuhyun.

The boy got at to the bus stop just in time to catch the bus and as soon as he got on the rain started to fall. He cursed as he saw the bus was full and only one seat was left. It’s not like he hates sitting with strangers… he just doesn’t like it. But he made his way to the seat next to a guy who was reading the news paper and was thankful cause this meant the other wouldn’t start a conversation with him. The monkey boy sat down and looked at nowhere in particular thinking this day couldn’t get any worse.

“You’re here to apologize?” the one sitting beside him asked and made Hyukjae’s soul leave his body for a few seconds. Slowly he turned to face the guy who had put down the newspaper and was now staring at Hyukjae.

His eyes went wide as the familiar face was facing him with a smirk. “You!” Hyukjae yelled making everyone on the bus stare at him.

“Be a little quieter while you apologize.” The other said with a smirk.

“YOU’RE THE ONE WHO SHOULD APOLOGIZE!” Hyukjae said a little too loud and the other boy had to cover the monkey’s mouth.

Hyukjae was trying to remove the other boy’s hand from his mouth but was failing since the other was stronger. He started to feel light headed when he couldn’t breathe properly so he stomped as hard as he could on the other’s foot which caused the boy to yelp in pain. Finally able to breath after the other let go Hyukjae pressed the stop button and stood up. He would rather walk rather than be stuck with that fish brain guy.

The sky was turning a shade of grey which meant it would rain soon so Hyukjae took quicker steps towards his hyung’s house which wasn’t far from where he had gotten off at. All the way he kept cursing the other who he hoped never to see again in his life. It started to get chilly a he continued his way to see his brother. He used the excused that he needed to speak to him but right now all he needed was a hug and to hear his brother say everything would be okay.

Raindrops finally begin to drop and Hyukjae took for a run since his hyung’s house was still three blocks away. The rain started to pour down fast and Hyukjae knew he would get sick if he didn’t hurry up so he sped up. Finally reaching the door his rang the bell desperately to get inside and dry himself off. Images of the annoying guy came into mind and he wished the rain would send him back into the sea with his kind, the thought made him want to laugh but instead cursed at himself for even thinking of the guy.

The freezing boy rang the bell over and over again hoping his hyung would hurry up and opens the door and once he heard footstep he sighed in relief.

“Can’t you remember to take your key?!” Hyukjae was taken aback when an annoyed Kyuhyun opened the door. The younger boy was also taken aback and had an apologetic look but soon replaced it by a blank one.

“Sorry to disturb you but I’m looking for my brother.” Hyukjae said in a fierce tone. He really wanted to kill Kyuhyun at the moment.

Kyuhyun walked towards the living room leaving the door open for Hyukjae to walk in. “He isn’t home.” He simply said as he took a seat on the couch to return to his previous activity; watch tv.

Hyukjae walked in and stood in front of the younger blocking his view. “His car is outside!” Hyukjae said but the other just shrugged. “If he’s not here that means his outside in the rain!”

The younger kept ignoring what the other was saying and instead just rested his head on the back of the couch and closed his eyes hoping the other would just go away. But the other had other plans.

The monkey boy grabbed Kyuhyun by the collar. “He’s hurting because of you! I hope he realizes you’re not worth shit.”

“Let him go Hyukjae!” the other two turned to see a dripping wet Sungmin standing at the door. Hyukjae glared at the younger boy and let him go. “Come with me to the room.” The oldest of the three said and Hyukjae nodded.

Hyukjae just followed behind afraid of speaking and being yelled at. He knew his brother would always take Kyuhyun’s side. As they entered the room Sungmin walked towards the closet and stood there facing the door for a few seconds.

“Hyung… are you okay??” Hyukjae asked his brother.

The older slowly nodded. “Yeah…” he said loud enough for only Hyukjae to hear. He took a deep breath and then opened the closet taking out a suitcase and laying it on the floor. “Could you help me pack a few things?”

Hyukjae nodded his head even though the other couldn’t see him. He was too shocked to move from the place he was but his senses came back when he saw the other trembling. Quickly he went to his brother and embraced him. The two stayed in that position for a while till Sungmin stopped sobbing.

“Just a few things… I’ll send someone for the rest.” Sungmin wiped his tears and started packing his clothes. Hyukjae helped him pack what was necessary for a few days but was worried for his brother. “Let’s go, it’s getting late.” The older said and closed the suitcase.

“Are you sure about this?” the younger asked his brother one last time and watched as his brother nodded slowly.

“I want to do this because it’s for the best…” Sungmin wiped one last tear and weakly smiled at his younger brother. “Let’s go.” And with that the oldest headed out the room with the suitcase and his brother following behind.

Sungmin looked around for a moment and spotted Kyuhyun in the kitchen. “Go call a cab, Hyukjae.” He said and headed towards the kitchen where his husband was. Slowly he walked towards the man who was making coffee. He took out the keys and set them on the table making the other turn around to stare at him. “I’ll come later for my other things.” He said trying not to choke on his words. “I just bought groceries two days ago so it should last you a few days more… the keys to the car are by the door.”

“You don’t h…” Sungmin shushed him before he could say anything else.

“I’ll file for the divorce papers so don’t worry about anything… Just be happy Cho Kyuhyun.” Sungmin said and left the kitchen and leaving a crying boy that he wasn’t able to see.

Kyuhyun slammed his fists on the table as he slowly let himself fall onto the floor as well as his tears. He never knew it would be so painful when the time came for Sungmin to get tired of him. He wanted to run after the boy, after his wife. Sungmin was the only person he loved but he had to let the boy go for his own good. Nothing hurt as much as seeing how Sungmin would cry every night because of him and he wanted to kill himself for it. But in the end he knew it was for Sungmin’s happiness.
