In Nebraska...God's country

It is almost 1:00 p.m. and I'm already here. It takes approx. 6 and a half hours to get here...yes, we left EARLY. Like 4:30 a.m. early. Don't think I'm nuts just yet, but because Jeff had to be at church to leave for Mexico that early, and we had to take him, I decided to just keep on driving while the kiddos slept. It worked out perfectly. I drank two HUGE cups of coffee to keep myself awake and I practiced (very quietly) the song I'll be singing in church on July 31.

So a couple hours into the trip, I had to go. You know, potty. Plus I needed gas. It was only 6:45 a.m. I stopped at this Stuckeys/DQ/BP station which wasn't open yet (just pay at the pump). There I was, filling up my car, doing the potty dance with the kids asleep in the car. It was excruciating. After noticing some movement in the building, I walked up to the window and knocked.

This wonderful lady came to the door, unlocked it and said, "Come on in. The bathroom is back there." to which I replied, "My kids are asleep in the car. *sheepish* Could you just keep an eye on them?" and she did!!! I got to get gas, run in and use the bathroom, and my kids stayed in the car asleep!! I was thanking and praising the Lord for about 10 miles.

Ahhh, now I'm here, Andrew is taking a nap and Mom took Emma and Bayley to the zoo. Life is great. I think I'll go nap in my parents' freezing cold basement.
