"AND BRING MORE CHICKEN WINGS" (technically that's DBZ, but whatevs. Best line ever.)

OKAY. HAVING REVIEWED THE SITUATION VIA WIKIPEDIA AND MULTIPLE VIEWINGS OF THE TRAILER, THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS ON THE DRAGONBALL MOVIE (that no one in the universe saw fit to tell me about despite this being something that really requires MONTHS of antsing up for):

• None of the characters really look like they do in the anime (for obvious reasons, I suppose), yet they have kept Goku's hair style and the orange outfit. I APPROVE OF THIS EMMENSELY.

• I am somewhat hesitant about the casting and acting of Goku. That guy is very… white. And American (which makes absolutely no sense). And dull. And he doesn't seem nearly happy-go-lucky enough. Goku should be fun and cheerful and sweet and dense. And, preferably, given when this thing seems to be set, he should totally speak with that surfer dude accent he had for, like, two movies. That was cool. I have serious reservations about this Goku.

• THE DRAGONBALLS LOOK REALLY COOL.

• Bulma has anime-Bulma-hair-coloured streaks. I like that.

• Also, she is played by the astoundingly beautiful girl from the new Phantom of the Opera. So I know she’s pretty, but can she act? Has she got attitude? It’s so hard to know given that the only thing I’ve seen her in was also one of the worst movies I have ever come across.

• PICCOLO. PICCOLO. He is the wrong shade of green and Evil Piccolo, not good, grumpy Piccolo, who sulks around with Vegeta destroying cameras and making sarcastic comments, but still, PICCOLO.

• ... AND HE'S PLAYED BY JAMES MARSTERS HOHMYGODHOHMYGOD.

• Chow Yun Fat… is playing Master Roshi. I don’t think I can quite get my brain around that. They do know that Master Roshi is a crazy, inappropriate old lush, right?

• CHI CHI IS IN IT! I love Chi Chi! Between her and Bulma, DB had two amazing female characters. Like, really kick arse, charismatic, fantastic characters that are among my overall favourites. I really do hope they do them justice. WITH MUCH KICKING OF THE ARSES.

• Where is Krillin?

• Aww, no talking animals? NOT FAIR.

• THERE WILL BE STYLISED MARTIAL ARTS SCENES WITH MOVING REALLY FAST AND STICKS AND CRAZY JUMPING IN THE AIR AND STUFF EEEEEEEEEEE!

• It would make absolutely no sense, but HOW COOL WOULD IT BE IF VEGETA WAS IN IT! Everything is better with Vegeta. He’s so… angry. I love him so much.

• KAAAAAAMEEEEEEHAAAAAAAMEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, BITCHES.
