5 Centimeters Per Second
Really, I've never been so into a story about something so everyday. These characters are great, the scenery is amazing, and the story is simple but somehow very emotionally involved. Episodes 1 and 2 are just wonderful to watch.
But the ending sucks. SUCKS. In almost every way possible. There's this horrible, gag-inducing song at the end that just KEEPS GOING AND WON'T STOP, accompanied by something that looks like a very poor AMV which accomplishes nothing. And then the ending sucks more. I kind of wish I'd stopped after episode 2 and just let it be, because episode 3 isn't worth the time it takes to watch it. Because it sucks.
At least I can understand all those great AMVs now.
